Roxy came into our lives in 2019 as a puppy, and in many ways, she is where the Handley Ranch story really began. We had no idea when we brought that big, beautiful Rottweiler girl home that she would lead us to fall completely in love with the breed—or that she would eventually help fill our home with a whole Rottweiler family of our own.

Roxy is an exceptionally intelligent girl, but what has always stood out most about her is her heart. She is sweet, gentle, affectionate, fiercely loyal, and just mischievous enough to keep things interesting. She has always had a way of making herself known, whether she's romping across the property, checking on the other animals, or simply keeping an eye on whatever we're doing.

When we moved to the farm in South Carolina, Roxy traded her old backyard for six acres to explore. She took to farm life like she had been born for it, happily pounding around the property with the rest of the Rott-pack and all the other critters that now call Handley Ranch home.

Roxy was fully trained by Danita Pasch of Pasch's Beautiful Bernese in Rockford, Illinois, and that training became an important part of our philosophy at Handley Ranch. A Rottweiler is a powerful and intelligent dog, and we believe they deserve the guidance and training that allows all of that wonderful potential to shine.

Roxy went on to become our foundation female, giving us three litters and 26 puppies. More importantly, she gave us the opportunity to experience just what wonderful family dogs Rottweilers can be.

In 2025, after her final breeding attempt, Roxy officially retired from motherhood. These days, she has earned her place as the senior lady of the Ranch. She spends her time enjoying the farm, supervising the younger dogs, and—when necessary—keeping those boys in line.

She doesn't have puppies to raise anymore. She has no career left to pursue.

She's simply Roxy.

And that's more than enough.

She was the beginning of the Rottweilers at Handley Ranch, and she will always hold a very special place in our family. She is a gift, she is a blessing, and we are grateful for every day we get to have her here with us.
